Gino Libero ! France refused the extration of our comerade to Hungary

Rixhino “Gino” Abazaj, his lawyers and his support group, had a first victory the 26 march when the Cours d’Appel de Paris ordered a release on probation. Yesterday the Cours d’Appel refused to extradite Gino to the very illeberal country of Viktor Orban. It’s a second victory for Gino and an important signal for the antifascist struggle.

Gino will not be handed to Hungary. The French justice declared itself against the European Warrant delivered by the hungarian government. The judges declared that, if he was extradited to Hungary, the articles 3 and 6 of the European declaration of Humans Rights risked not to be respected. They considered that a risk of torture and of a tratment which dont respect human dignity existed because of his political opinions. But they also stated the risk of an unfair trial by the illeberal government of Viktor Orban and its justice system. Gino sentence would have been up to 24 years.

It’s an important decision for Gino but we hope it is also important for the other people involved in the Budapest case. We are thinking about them and we will continue fighting for their freedom. Our thoughts go to our comrrades imprisoned in Germany and to Maja, who is still in the hungarian prison.
